The final wrap – what next?

The final wrap – what next?

12 weeks down and now its time for the girls’ results.

The stats are always a great way to measure performance (they can’t lie), lost kilograms, lost centimetres, dropped a dress size etc but perhaps more important than any of these things is how you feel about yourself.

All the girls have achieved great stats and made big improvements but better than any of that is the fact they have improved their body confidence and self worth.

You can read Sherilynn’s comments to see what I mean.

Helpful Hint: When you have reached or achieved a goal, don’t check out, set your-self a new goal and game plan and push to do even better.

After three months making great progress and achieving better bodies it would be easy to let things slide and go back to old ways.

Keep the journey going, make it a way of life and you will never go back to the “old you”.

Amy, 30s, teacher

My prize of 12 weeks at Step Into Life is over and what a difference that time has made!

The best achievement over the 12 weeks was definitely an overall improvement in my basic fitness.

At the start, any sort of extended movement was a real struggle and left me very puffed and struggling to continue.

Now I am able jog for two kilometres and not feel like dying at the end.

My recovery time after any extended exercise is now much shorter and I am always eager to move onto the next activity.

Over the 12 weeks I have lost about five kg and many centimetres off my body.

I have dropped a dress size and feel much more comfortable.

I am so grateful for the opportunity of joining Step into Life.

My confidence has grown in all areas and I cannot wait to see what the next 12 weeks of Step Into Life can do for me.

Kim-Cherie, 40s, editor

This week I attended three Step Into Life sessions – cardio, fitness test and City to Surf training.

After three fitness tests my personal bests are: 2km in 10 min and 50 sec; speed test of 14 laps, modified push ups 35, sit ups 46, squats 36, plank 2min and shoulder press 35.

My final results are 8kg lighter, 18.5cm and a dress size smaller.

All these improvements have been due to a different mind set, motivation and support.

David has been helpful with the training, keeping me motivated and pushing me to get the results.

The Betty Baxter team at Marylands Pharmacy have been marvellous with its knowledge on the program and encouragement of managing a busy lifestyle and weight management.

I have signed up with David for another 12 weeks and will continue with the Betty Baxter program to work towards my optimum fitness level and weight.

I have learnt a lot but the biggest lesson has been about me and my motivators – I am goal orientated and like challenges.

So, for this new lifestyle to become a routine, like brushing my teeth, I need to look at bench marks.

The first will be the City to Surf August 9, followed by the Lake Macquarie Half Marathon 10km run on August 30, then I will look for the next challenge.

Sherilynn, 40s, mum

Well the 12 weeks has come to an end but my training with David hasn’t.

Although the training has been tough, I have decided to make Step into Life a part of my lifestyle.

I have learnt that a healthy body is also a healthy mind and that’s what I want to continue with.

Winning the competition was the best thing that could have happened to me because I was low and needed something to get me back on track.

During these 12 weeks I have achieved things I never thought I would or could do.

Running was one of them and at my fitness test I took a minute off my last time, that’s a 2km run in 14 minutes.

In the first fitness test sit ups, push ups, crunches were around 10 each and this time theywere in the 20s and 30s.

I was so proud of myself I felt like running up the steps and doing a Rocky.

Boxing is my favourite with the fitness ball a close second and I do training at home with an exercise bike and punching bag.

The training has been the easiest part for me with the calorie control being the hardest.

I have lost 4kg and I now I have more muscles than flab.

I know I will eventually reach my goal weight and when I do it will be the proudest day of my life because I Did It and I Did It For Me.

Lastly I just want to thank Kim-Cherie at The Star and David at Step Into Life for turning my life around.

For all your support and advice I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Also I want to thank all the people I train with as their support and hum-our has made training a place I like to be.

So to everyone out there who still is thinking about it – give David a call now.
