ART has helped curb anti-social youth behaviour in Swansea.
The Swansea Youth Mural Project, established in 2009, aimed to empower local young people and discourage acts of vandalism, such as graffiti.
Groups of teenagers from Swansea's Eastlakes Youth Centre and Caves Beach Surf Club created vibrant, artistic works, which are displayed in their suburbs.
The project's final instalment brightens the walls of Caves Beach Surf Club.
About 30 people aged 11 to 18 years met regularly with Caves Beach artist Daniel Joyce to create the mural.
Mr Joyce formulated the surf-inspired design from the kids' sketches of coastal life.
He was modest about his involvement in the project but said it helped build local kids' confidence.
"The kids were the true artists, I just kept the paints flowing," he said.
Mr Joyce also worked with the area's youth to create the murals at Swansea's Eastlakes Youth Centre and the Talbot Park amenities block.
Funding for the project was provided by Juvenile Justice NSW and Coles Swansea.
