The Cardiff Hawks continued to flex their muscle last Saturday and showed all sides it has the talent and the depth to be a force in the competition winning 27.21.183 to 7.4.46.
The club rested several of its established stars and this gave coach Michael Ryan an opportunity to blood the young Hawks.
Jack Platt, Jackson McMahon, James Foot and Matthew Davies who are all local juniors had a run and showed they all can play at this level.
Both sides entered this game with a definite game plan.
Cardiff was playing on and running at every opportunity and the young Tigers were trying to slow things down, chip the ball around and retain possession.
Using their plan, the Tigers were able to restrict the Cardiff scoring for the early part of each quarter.
However, they were unable to maintain the skill level required and the Hawks powered away as each quarter progressed.
Michael Ryan and Brendan Wold both kicked seven goals and Tim Sheldon was best on ground.
The final score shows a big win to the Hawks but the Gosford players showed that when they are able to execute their game plan for the whole game they can be very competitive.
