But if you were to challenge him to a race, you are most likely to lose.
As a member of the Lake Macquarie BMX Club, you can find him at the track every Wednesday and Saturday night perfecting his sport.
The 12-year-old from Cardiff South has been riding BMX since he was seven and has been racing competitively since 2006.
And he just keeps getting faster and faster.
A class competitor at his club, Griffiths took top honours at an open day in April, winning the 11/12 Cruiser division and picking up second place in the 12 year boys 20-inch division.
Last October at the state championships, Griffiths managed a second placing in the 20-inch 11 year boys division, as well as a third placing in the 11/12 Cruiser division, just pipped by world number one, Andrew Hughes, from Liverpool.
Griffiths has set his sight on a first placing at the next state championships later this year.
He eventually wants to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Griffiths said his results were due to an entire team of support, including his parents Tim and Paula, his sponsor Brad Goman and his coach Paull McLaughlin.
Griffiths has also been training with the Hunter Academy of Sport’s BMX program for two years, participating in monthly time trials and specialised sprint racing.
This month Griffiths was on the receiving end of a $500 scholarship from the Local Sporting Champions Fund.
He will put the money towards travelling and accommodation costs for next year’s national championships, to be held in April.
More scholarships of $500 for individuals and $3000 for teams are available in the coming months.
