Hunter lifesavers named in NSW Talented Athlete Program

23 Sep, 2009 05:00 AM
Surf Life Saving NSW has announced the athletes who have made the 2009/10 Talented Athlete Program.

Competitors from Hunter Clubs include: Daniel Collins of Redhead, Jack Lemke of Cooks Hill, Georgia McConville of Caves Beach and Sjana Earp of Swansea Belmont.

The camp will take place from October 7 to 9 at Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen.

The athletes will be involved in team building, sport education on nutrition, training sessions with state coaches and other surf sports activities.

It is a recognised achievement to be selected for this program, and we wish the athletes every success for the season ahead.

In other news the Expressions of Interest are now open for the Hunter Surf Life Saving 2009/10 representative team to compete the Inter-branch Championships hosted by Cape Hawke from December 13 to 14.

Applications close October 9.

Last year’s squad performed well when hosted in the region by Catherine Hill Bay, finishing in a respectable fourth position closely behind Central Coast, Sydney and Sydney Northern Beaches.

This year’s team will be training hard to crack the top three and good luck to all applicant.
