Lendrum dominates Red Bull heat

01 Jul, 2009 05:00 AM
The Red Bull Junior Surf Masters scored perfect waves for the second year running.

Last year competitors had perfect Merewether Point, this year competitors were greeted with perfect three foot conditions at south Bar Beach.

The surfing was outstanding all day but the one surfer who dominated from round one was Sam Lendrum.

Lendrum was in blistering form scoring a perfect 10.00 point ride on the way to the final.

The 25-minute final was no different for Lendrum, he picked off the biggest and best waves and scored highly to easily take victory, he defeated Avoca’s Dane Atcheson, Merewether’s Jake Sylvester and Frenchman's Duncan McNicol.

All four finalists will now go on to compete in the Red Bull Junior Surf Master Trials on the August 28 and will go up against fellow finalists from around the nation.
