Aussies juniors win Optus Junior Davis Cup

14 Oct, 2009 03:00 AM
Congratulations to the Optus Junior Davis Cup team of Luke Saville (SA), Jason Kubler (QLD), Joey Swaysland (NSW), and Coach Ray Ruffels on winning the Junior Davis Cup title Mexico. This is a fantastic win for the team with wins over Poland, Spain, and Mexico before defeating Great Britain in the final.

Once again, Australia has shown its dominance in world junior tennis and with Tennis Australia providing more support for our elite players in the transition from junior to senior ranks we look forward to greater success on the professional tour and maybe a home grand slam (Australian Open) winner.

With the grand slams for 2009 decided, attention now turns to 2010 and the opening major of the year, the Australian Open.

Tickets for the Australia Open went on sale for the general public last Monday, October 12, and tournament director Craig Tiley is predicting the 2010 Open will be as big as ever.
