No camping at Stockton Beach

STOCKTON Beach will close its camping grounds this summer as a result of devastating storms earlier in the year.

The Hunter’s iconic 32-kilometre stretch is still recovering from the heavy winter weather in June.

Those who had planned to camp for Christmas, New Year or summer holidays on the beach will have to make alternative arrangements.

National Parks and Wildlife regional manager Robert Quirk said while the area may look okay for camping, the frontal dunes had not yet recovered.
