A SOCIAL media appeal delivered a truck laden with donated goods and money to Coonabarabran's fire relief at the weekend.
University of Newcastle administration worker Mellissa Coad, who is originally from Coonabarabran, and her husband Stuart hauled the cargo out on Saturday after an impromptu call for items snowballed to include donated truck rental and thousands of dollars in merchandise.
Items ranged from brand new clothes to second-hand bicycles."We'll just deliver it and help sort it so people who have been affected can just collect it," she said.
Light rain near Coonabarabran on the weekend helped reduce fire activity in what had been the state's most destructive fire for more than a decade.
Lower Hunter fire crews said they would remain alert, running patrols to keep fires including Aberdare under control.
