NEWCASTLE council is calling for submissions on a proposal to change Hunter Street traffic from four to two lanes, install angle parking, and create a dedicated cycle way and an additional pedestrian crossing.
The project is part of the council's "Connected City" strategic direction, which aims to improve transport networks and services.
An estimated 20 parking spots will be implemented.
The proposal will be on public exhibition until Friday, February 8.
People are invited to lodge their comments by visiting newcastle.nsw.gov.au or at the council's customer inquiry centre, 282 King Street.
