FLEX those muscles and get your best paddling arms on girls because the annual Girls Go Surfing Day is back.
Perfect for both experienced and beginner surfers – young and old, Miles Niddrie, of Redhead Surf School will be hosting two jam packed afternoons full of surfing fun.
At Blacksmith Beach on February 9 and Stockton Beach on February 10, Mr Niddrie will be working with a number of other instructors to show Novocastrians how to make the most of the many local iconic surf spots.
‘‘Girls can expect a bit of fun in a safe learning environment,’’ Mr Niddrie said.
‘‘We will show the girls how to get up on a wave, paddle properly, how to manage their board as well as tips on getting caught in rips and other beach safety.’’
Participants of the event will also get a show bag full of surfing goodies and some handy tips for their future riding the waves.
Girls Go Surfing Day program has run across the country for the past 20 years and attracted more than 6000 participants throughout its time.
■ GIRLS Go Surfing Day is $55 for the session. It will be held at Stockton Beach this Saturday, February 9 and at Blacksmiths Beach on Sunday, February 10. The sessions are expected to held in the afternoon, based on the tide and conditions. For bookings or more information, phone 4944 9585.
