LAKE Macquarie City Council has been given the go ahead to prepare a full application for federal regional funding for the Glendale interchange.
The NSW government has already kicked in $15 million, while the council has kicked in $7 million and the federal government $7 million.
If the full application is successful under the fourth round of the Regional Development Australia Fund, an additional $15 million will go towards the completion of Stage 1 of the interchange, which includes the Pennant Street Bridge over the rail line.
