COSTLY SIGNS DEFENDED
LAKE Macquarie City Council has defended its decision to spend more than $300,000 on 10 town entry signs in five town centres across the area.
The council said the signs helped promote the town centres under one Lake Macquarie city brand.
The sign program sought to create attractive, modern signs with a common theme.
The council has called for tenders for more signs in Charlestown, Mount Hutton, Glendale, Cardiff and Warners Bay.
