THE Northumberland region Medibank Junior Development Series is in full swing with three tournaments now completed.
Last weekend’s event was conducted at Maitland but at the time of writing the results were not at hand. However, the previous week’s event at Gosford was well attended with some strong performances.
Winners from the Newcastle tournament, Roan Burke (12 and under boys’ singles) and Rhys Searant (14 and under boys’ singles) were again successful, whilst Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre’s Emily Brogan went one step further to win the 14 and under girls’ singles title.
Others winners were Lleyton Richards (10 and under boys’ singles), Jaide Smith (10 and under girls’ singles), Teodora Jovic (12 and under girls’ singles), Matthew Ellis (16 and under boys’ singles) while Katierae Fing and Briahna Bessant shared 16 and under girls’ singles.
