AS reported last week Raymond Terrace Tennis Club staged a successful silver AMT event from Saturday 16th to Monday 18th February.
Twelve events were conducted and 104 players entered in 186 events.
The AMT men’s singles was dominated by the Taylor family from Port Macquarie with Adam defeating younger brother Jason in the final.
The AMT women’s singles was won by Rebecca Jones from Ivana Kafedjiyska.
Local successes included Tara Hamilton and Brandon Parry winning the open mixed doubles, Matthew George winning the men’s special singles, Jordan McFadyen running up in the 18 and under boy’s singles, Matthew Gordon running up in the men’s special singles and Brett Durrance running up in the B grade men’s singles.
Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre’s Wednesday night mixed teams competition concluded last week with the next competition commencing this week.
Team Twisted dominated the competition with popular Michael Parsons, Ian Mould, Karen Wilkinson and Judy Mitchell winning another title. The new competition has a number of new faces and we look forward to team Twisted being challenged.
Team Twisted will be missing Ian Mould as he has caught the touring bug since his recent retirement.
He and his lovely wife are travelling Australia, enjoy our great country, but the Wednesday players look forward to your friendly banter on return.
