SWANSEA Channel's dredging woes and the potential rezoning of Lake Macquarie away from a recreational waterway will be the hot topics of conversation at the upcoming Lake Macquarie Classic Boatfest.
Several free forums for boat enthusiasts will be a welcome addition to the annual event, which will be held this month.
Toronto's scenic waterfront will again host the boating carnival over the Easter long weekend, with Toronto Diggers Club to host the free forums.
Speakers from Sailability, the Boat Owners Association and Roads and Marine Services will address issues such as the long-term dredging plan for the Swansea Channel, changes to boating legislation and the rezoning of Lake Macquarie.
Sailability Toronto's Geoff Thorneley said he hoped his organisation could recruit more volunteers and users through the forum.
Sailability, a not-for-profit volunteer-based organisation, aims to enrich the lives of people with any type of disability.
He said Sailability Toronto has the potential to expand to three days a week with more help.
