DAVID Holt, the head coach of the Hunter Academy of Sport track and field talent development program, has announced his 2013 squad, which started earlier this month at the Hunter Sports Centre at Glendale.
The squad’s activities began with an orientation meeting attended by parents, home coaches and the Academy athletes and coaches and, during which all relevant details of the squad programme were discussed and associated policies explained.
The athletes selected in this Hunter Academy of Sport Squad are (in their event groups) are:
Distance - Tyson Beatty, Brooke Coggins, Rose Davies, Griffin Del Caro, Chloe Walters, James Turner and Jesse Maxwell.
Walks – Cory McGinniskin, Eric Morey and Damien Owen.
Hurdles - Kayley Alsford, Luke Batten, Grace Weir, Lucas Sullivan and Trent Halton.
Jumps - Isobel Warby, Jake Ellis, Joshua Millford, Lucas Millward, Brandon Thompson and Hayden Bell. Multi
Event - Emma-Sue Greentree, Flynn Lefmann, Makenzie Scott, Callen Meir and Brodie McCann.
Sprints - Stephanie Bain, Ben Allen, Luke Haworth, Christian Polkinghorne, Declan Spencer and Aiden Hampton.
Throws - Lee Angwin, Tegan Fennell, Tom Gilbert, Laura Stokes, Georgia Rowan, Emma Stokes and Aiden Harvey.
The squad’s draft program lists squad training days at the Hunter Sports Centre, a regional visit, participation in various NSW and National Championships, and a visit to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
