The school received the accolade through this year's World Wildlife Fund Earth Hour Environmental Education Awards.
It started off with nude-food (no food wrapping) days, and progressed to a waste-free lunchbox rule everyday.
The Earth Hour awards recognised the school for its ongoing commitment to adopting environmentally sustainable projects that reduce waste, water and energy use, and improve biodiversity.
Blacksmiths' projects include being a bin-less school, hosting a one-hour weekly sustainable living lesson for every class and maintaining organic vegetable and herb gardens.
