AN amendment to Lake Macquarie council’s Pasminco Area Plan is now on public exhibition. The original plan for the former Pasminco Cockle Creek Smelter and Incitec Fertiliser sites left residents concerned about access. The amendment has addressed the issue by proposing a second entry, while also considering contamination, remediation and noise control. It is being jointly exhibited with a planning proposal that intends to rezone part of the former Incitec Pivot Fertiliser site to a residential zone. Both plans will be on exhibition until November 18. To view and give feedback, go to lakemac.com.au.
