Ms Dunn said visitors would be able to learn how to make beautiful Christmas tree ornaments, gift decorations, paper garlands and banners out of simple and recycled materials for next to nothing.
Any spare paper from old books and magazines, wrapping paper and paintings can be transformed into amazing designs with basic office stationery like scissors, staplers, sticky tape and string.
Newcastle Region Library donated old magazines and books for the workshops, while templates and instructions will be provided by Ms Dunn.
She has drawn and painted as long as she can remember but in the last few years has come to appreciate paper as an art material in its own right.
"Paper is often taken for granted because it is such a common thing, but it is so versatile, reusable and inexpensive, delicate yet strong, and creating with paper can be as simple or challenging as you want it to be," she said.
"From these workshops I'd like people to take away the idea that if you are creative with materials you already have, art and special events don't need to be expensive."
Ms Dunn has exhibited her paper art in many local exhibitions and has run workshops at The Olive Tree Markets and other events.
The Olive Tree Christmas Market is the biggest market of the year, with more than 160 artists and designers.
There will be music, drumming, gourmet artisan produce and the Strip of a Lifetime Photobooth to take family Christmas Photos.
■ The Olive Tree Christmas Market is this Saturday, December 7, at The Junction Public School from 9am to 3pm.
