The year four students from Wallsend South Public School has won the 2013 Charlton Christmas Card Competition, held by Charlton federal MP Pat Conroy.
The competition was open to all stage two students in the area.
Koby's winning entry was a unique interpretation of Christmas in summer, which featured Santa relaxing at the beach surrounded by Australian wildlife.
It was one of 300 submissions received from 12 schools in Charlton.
Last week, Mr Conroy joined Koby and his classmates at a school assembly to present him the winner's certificate.
About 500 Christmas cards will be printed with Koby's design and sent to local community groups, MPs and dignitaries, including the Governor-General, Quentin Bryce.
There will also be two runner-up designs on the back of the card.
Jessica Evans, also from Wallsend South, and Pepita Barton, from Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College, were highly commended for their submissions.
All students who entered the competition received a certificate to acknowledge their participation.
