URBANGROWTH NSW has appointed a new leader to run Newcastle's $400 million Hunter Street mall redevelopment, just a week after it revealed director Julie Rich had resigned.
In a joint initiative, UrbanGrowth NSW and Hunter Development Corporation agreed that David Antcliff should be transferred to the role last Monday, February 10.
Mr Antcliff was involved in the former BHP site remediation and Honeysuckle development over several years.
He joined Hunter Development Corporation in 2009 and was appointed to lead the corporation's Newcastle urban renewal strategy.
In his new position, Mr Antcliff will be in charge of the The Hunter Street mall redevelopment.
This includes plans for 400 apartments, up to 25,000 square metres of retail space and 5000 square metres of commercial space between the old David Jones building and Newcomen Street.
