The Jets finally had the home win they were looking for on Saturday.
The 5-0 win was the club's biggest, and moved the Jets to sixth place on 32 points.
Goals by Emile Heskey, Joel Griffiths, Michael Bridges and a double by Adam Taggart had the team doing victory laps.
However, Newcastle Jets coach Clayton Zane has already turned his attention to the next three matches with Perth, Melbourne Victory and Adelaide.
He said now the Jets had a significant win under their belt, they needed to focus on strengthening their hope of finals with at least one more win.
"We have a little taste of what it is like to be in the six," Zane said.
"But we are not kidding ourselves.
"There is still a lot of work to be done."
The Newcastle Jets will take on Perth Glory this Sunday, March 30, at NIB Stadium, Perth.
The game will get under way at 4pm.
