A DAMAGE report on the Sugarloaf State Conservation Area has finally been released by the state government, which has admitted it was "not appropriate" it kept the information secret.

The report details environmental damage caused to the area by Glencore Xstrata's West Wallsend mine.
A major landslide occurred in 2012, but it was not made public until August last year.
An attempt to remediate the area resulted in two accidental grout spills, including one that ran into a creek.
The report's release comes six months after Premier Barry O'Farrell ordered an inter-agency investigation into the scandal.
It outlines a number of punitive measures against Glencore Xstrata, including a $100,000 offset to be paid by Oceanic Coal, which operates the West Wallsend mine.
Lake Macquarie MP Greg Piper welcomed the report, but said there were many questions still to be answered.
