A Kahibah not-for-profit organisation provides respite care for pets when their owners are ill, disabled or elderly.
Companion Animals Reward Everyone (CARE) For Pets serves 20 clients, some with more than one animal.
There are between 15 and 25 volunteers actively working for CARE For Pets.
Many of the carers are seniors who are retired and volunteer in their spare time between travelling and looking after grandchildren.
Volunteers from the organisation help owners manage their pets with short and long-term care.
The care can include walks, feeding, brushing or transport to vet and grooming appointments.
