The council and the RSL invite everyone to participate in these community events, which offer something for all ages.
Come out to honour Australia's servicemen and women, particularly those who gave their lives, and all who have served in various theatres of war since World War I.
This year, descendants will have pride of place at the head of the Anzac Day march, so come join the parade and proudly display the medals of relatives who have served.
A brand-new event is the Anzac Day Portraiture Project, a series of filmed portraits of Australia's history.
The film will be beamed in large format at the Anzac Day Dawn Service and every night on Watt Street through June as part of City Evolutions.
Additional public transportation will be available to the CBD — take a bus, train or taxi to avoid traffic congestion. More information is online at newcastle.gov.au under About Newcastle, Events, Major Events, Anzac Day.
Join us to honour the Anzac tradition.
