Unmarked graves identified at Sandgate Cemetery

LOCAL history enthusiasts working at Sandgate Cemetery have identified about 30 unmarked graves since September last year. Gary Mitchell and Terry St George are running a unique database project aimed at discovering the stories behind the hundreds of unmarked graves that belonged to the Hunter's war contingent. The database enables the public to submit information on those buried at the cemetery who served in the war so that a complete data set can be released in time for the centenary of the Gallipoli landing next year.
