I fished with my good mate Michael Fairbairn last week in Lake Macquarie.
Tailor have been a little hard to find lately, however, we came across some flathead sitting in a couple of metres of water at Rocky Point.
Michael landed a 56-centimetre fish and I caught a 69-centimetre one.
Making the move to Moon Island in search of squid, we were sidetracked by a school of salmon the size of a football ground.
After some messing around with chrome lures and blades we made the change to a small soft plastic and success followed soon after.
Snapper have been caught close to Newcastle around Big Ben and the baths.
