PELICAN'S sustainable neighbourhood group is working with Lake Macquarie council to address drainage problems in Blacksmiths, Pelican and Marks Point, where flooding occurs during heavy rain and king tides. Group leader Frank Mieszala said residents had contacted the council but the problem had not been addressed. The group will audit drains and provide council with a top-five priority list, requesting remediation works for the problem areas.
