As winners of The Star's Disney On Ice skate, meet and greet competition, 10 local families had the experience of a lifetime on Friday when they met this year's Disney On Ice cast at Hunter Ice Skating Stadium.
They were greeted by famous duo Mickey and Minnie Mouse before they took to the ice with nine of the 44-strong skating cast for 45 minutes.
Even mums and dads joined in on the fun as they watched their children relish in the magical moment.
Wallsend mum Kristyn Hemsworth, whose 7-year-old daughter was one of the lucky competition winners, said the afternoon was priceless.
"It was so special and we are really grateful to have had the opportunity," Mrs Hemsworth said.
"[Elsie] will be telling her grandkids about this."
