The two-act comedy consists of the best Groucho one-liners, anecdotes and songs including Hooray for Captain Spalding and Lydia the Tattooed Lady.
The audience literally becomes part of the show as Ferrante ad-libs his way throughout the performance in grand Groucho style.
Accompanied by his onstage pianist, Eric Ebbenga, Ferrante portrays the young Groucho of stage and film, reacquainting us with the likes of Charlie Chaplin, WC Fields, Greta Garbo, Margaret Dumont, MGM's Louis B Mayer and, of course, his brothers Harpo, Chico, Zeppo and Gummo.
An Evening with Groucho will be at the Civic Theatre on Saturday, July 19, at 7.30pm.
As a special one-off to add to the ambience of this cabaret-style show, the Civic Theatre is giving theatre-goers the option to sit at a table for four and order hot or cold food platters accompanied by wine.
