That is the advice Garden Suburb Playgroup co-ordinator Theresa Moss gives first-time mums and dads hesitant about joining a playgroup.
Mrs Moss attended her first session at Garden Suburb Community Hall when her eldest son Harrison, now six, was three months old.
She has co-ordinated the playgroup for about three years with her younger son, Josh, 5, in tow.
On good days, Mrs Moss has seen more than 20 families walk through the playgroup's doors.
However, it has dwindled to about three or four.
Mrs Moss said this was largely because of older children moving on to kindergarten, but could also mean parents and caregivers are unaware the playgroup exists.
She encouraged everyone thinking about joining to do so.
"The kids have someone to play with, but also you meet other parents and share your experiences," she said.
"Just come along and give it a try."
The playgroup runs every Wednesday from 10am to noon.
It caters for babies, toddlers and preschoolers up to six years old and involves morning tea, craft, toys, music and dancing.
It costs $3.50 a session or $30 a school term.
