Citing the changing nature of the city centre and logistical issues with running the markets in Hunter Street, the group said it was unable to continue with the venture.
The group won the council tender in December and operated twice a month.
The markets were last held on May 9.
NSW Farmers Market made a request to the council to move the night markets into the Civic precinct, but the council refused as they were initiated to activate the east end.
New South Wales Farmers Market Pty Ltd will continue to run their other Newcastle markets at the Newcastle Showgrounds.
