The group, which formed in March in response to an inundation of local projects, has 22 members.
They include local residents, Neighbourhood Watch members and chamber of commerce executives.
The group had its first meeting last month at Belmont 16ft Sailing Club, where president Greg Love established how the group would work.
"Between all of us, we have the skills and strength to act on some of Belmont's biggest issues," Mr Love said.
"The successful outcome of projects will largely rely on the input, experience and expertise of our members."
Publicity officer Robin Gordon, pivotal in establishing the group, said she was "absolutely delighted" by public interest.
The Belmont and District Residents Action Group will meet at the sailing club on the first Monday of every month at 6pm.
The next meeting is on Monday, September 1.
Residents from Belmont and surrounding suburbs, from Jewells to Marks Point, are invited to join.
Membership costs $5 a year.
