While many schools across the region celebrate Book Week, Speers Point principal Chris Payne said the school made the decision to take their parade to the street for the first time last year with great success.
Although the wet weather shortened this year's parade, the students managed to show off their favourite characters to their family and friends.
"The school is a little bit hidden away so it's good to bring the community in," Mr Payne said.
"We've been working hard to boost our community profile."
This year the school's 120 students dressed up to the theme "heroes and villains", with many of the students taking the opportunity to channel their favourite comic book superhero.
