Titled Stop The Rot - Shine The Light, the forum called on NSW Premier Mike Baird to defend the state against former Newcastle lord mayor Jeff McCloy's High Court challenge to allow developers to donate to politicians' campaigns.
They also asked Mr Baird to suspend all city projects that may be tainted by the ICAC allegations of corruption and revisit the region within 21 days of the meeting to respond to their calls.
Hands Off Our City public rally rescheduled
THE Hands Off Our City public rally scheduled for last Saturday has been moved to September 6.
The community event includes local groups such as Save Our Rail, the Newcastle Inner City Residents Alliance (NICRA), the Newcastle East Residents Group and Better Planning for Mayfield.
Organisers said they postponed for two weeks to better co-ordinate the event and confirm more speakers.
The rally will now be held on Saturday, September 6, at 11am, at a venue to be advised.
