The group has teamed up with the Cancer Council and the Tea House to hold a Do It For Cancer concert at Edgeworth Bowling Cub on Sunday, September 21.
Vocal Evolution owner and director David Geise contacted the council with the idea to seek their help in organising it.
Mr Geise and other staff at the studio have been touched by cancer and the former Australian Idol contestant wanted to help make a difference.
"My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer and she beat it, but I know a lot of people don't," Mr Geise said.
"I rang and told the Cancer Council about my vision and they got right behind it."
The concert will start with a performance by Newcastle cover band KDL, before main act Vocal Evolution rounds out the show.
"The entire performance will be live and acoustic, which is something our group has never done before," Mr Geise said.
All parties involved in the event will donate their time and effort to the cause, with 100 per cent of profits raised to go directly to cancer research.
■ Do It For Cancer is an initiative run by the Cancer Council that allows people to pitch fund-raising ideas to the organisation.
Tickets to Sunday's concert are $10 and can be bought on the day.
Doors open at 12.30pm. All funds raised will go to the Cancer Council.
