North's dogged two-goal victory didn't come easy as the league's minor premiers battled it out in the second half when Dane Pettitt was given his second yellow card - an automatic full-game suspension.
To make matters worse, 15 minutes later Nick Hill was also sent to the sin bin for hitting the ball away when the Blues were clinging onto a 2-1 scoreline.
"We should have taken full advantage when [Norths] were down to nine men but we continually turned the ball over to them," a disappointed South coach Stewart Dearing said after the match.
The club's life members named Matt Dawson player of the match after he sealed North's two-goal victory when he found the net from a penalty shot.
