Now 22, the Australian Dance and Talent Centre product is preparing to perform at the Lake Macquarie 2014 International Children’s Games opening ceremony in front of an anticipated crowd of 25,000.
The Games are the largest multi-sport youth event in the world and are registered with the International Olympic Committee.
Lake Macquarie was the first Australian city to compete in the Games and will be the first city in the southern hemisphere to host them in December.
Miss Blane will perform at the opening ceremony on December 6 at Speers Point Park.
She features in three jazz numbers alongside dozens of others dancers from Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, who all had to audition for the part.
Miss Blane is a regular performer, having been a member of the Cardiff academy’s dance troupe, which attends festivals and competes at eisteddfods, for several years.
‘‘I just love it,’’ she said.
‘‘I’ve been on stage since I was two and there’s nothing better.’’
Though there are still two months until the Games, the public can catch a peek at what Miss Blane and her fellow performers have been working on at a talent showcase this Saturday, October 11, at Charlestown Square.
Starting at 11am in the centre court, the event will preview songs and dances written and choreographed for the Games opening ceremony.
