HUNDREDS of students from 25 schools across Lake Macquarie celebrated the 50-day countdown to the launch of the 2014 International Children's Games on Friday.

It was marked with a relay, which saw students from each school pass the torch from one point along the Warners Bay foreshore to another.
The 5-kilometre relay started at Warners Bay Lions Park, wound its way around Lake Macquarie and finished at Speers Point Park.
