Hannah Trypas, Amelia Johnson, Justin McMorland (Swansea-Belmont), Karly Falzon, Jye Lehman (Catherine Hill Bay) and Gabrielle Greives (Caves Beach) travelled to the Australian Surfing centre of excellence in Casuarina for a weekend of training, physical and mental.
As well as going through their paces in sessions of swimming, board paddling and ski paddling, the group took part in technique analysis and mental exercises intended to increase their standards of performance.
"We took a lot out of the testing with the performance team," Justin McMorland said.
"After the testing we went and trained and instantly I felt a difference.
"They have a great idea on how we can get better and develop."
Previously the camp has only occurred once a year, but the athletes say they're hoping it becomes a regular occurrence.
"It'd be good to be able to see our progression throughout the season and be able to continually improve," McMorland said.
