A whopping 112 teams entered the Cancer Council's overnight fund-raiser at the Glendale Hunter Sports Centre.
The festivities kicked off with the survivors and carers lap, in which about 300 people participated.
The afternoon was full of family favourites, including face painting, live entertainment and a box car derby.
Cancer Council community relations co-ordinator Elissa Mead said the Miss Relay event, in which participants don their craziest costumes, was "good fun".
"Miss Relay went off this year," she said.
"We had some really good costumes."
The midnight five-kilometre run returned for its second year and attracted 150 runners.
But the action didn't stop there.
"People walked all through the night," Miss Mead said. "There was always action on the track."
As The Star went to print, the donations had topped $120,000.
This year's top fund-raising team was Lorraine's Angels, bringing in almost $10,000.
Team captain Larissa Thomas, who formed the team to support her mother, Lorraine Adams, was the top individual fund-raiser. Mrs Thomas collected $5769.
These funds will go towards the Cancer Council's research, prevention, information and support services.
The public can donate up to a month after the event. Go to relayforlife.org.au.
