The Minmi Road community hall was built in 1955 and was originally called Smiths Hall.
It contained World War I artefacts and was often hired for weddings and birthday parties.
Since then, the hall has been transformed into a hub for community activities and programs.
Several offices were added to the building - the latest for youth counselling.
But the hall has kept its old-world charm.
"One of the things we've tried to do is keep the integrity of the original hall," centre manager Carol Bell said.
Ms Bell came to the centre in 1995 and has been working on it since.
"The first day I walked in I thought, 'now this is really something that can be built'," she said.
"It's been a process of systematic renovation."
The centre now opens seven days a week and is home to a range of community programs.
They include projects for disadvantaged youth, such as the community garden; counselling and family support services; playgroups and dance studios.
This month marks the centre's 30th anniversary since incorporation.
To celebrate, it will host a party from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, November 27.
There will be a jumping castle, face-painting, craft stalls and a barbecue, and all are welcome.
