The baths closed February 24 for a $4million upgrade of pumps, pipes and concrete restoration work.
The new pumps are expected to allow the pool to open for six days a week.
Initially, the work was estimated to take 12 months then revised for the pool to be opened by the end of the year.
However, on Wednesday night, the Newcastle council advised it had completed major works for the improvement of the baths on budget, and the construction fences would come down on Thursday.
It invited the community to use the reopened baths and lifeguards would patrol the pools from 9am to 5.30pm.
There will be an official opening and a family friendly community celebration on Saturday, December 13.
