The best photos entered throughout the seven-week photo competition by The Sista Code are on show through Renew Newcastle's The Project Space.
The Sista Code ran the competition via the social media platform Instagram in October and November using the (hashtag) #thesistacode.
Each week a different theme was chosen - sista, circle, shine, look up, on the street, this made me smile and calm.
Six photos from each week were chosen to be part of the final exhibition.
The photo competition is just one element of the wider The Sista Code movement.
The Sista Code has attracted nearly 10,000 women, united in a cause to uplift, love and support each other.
Exhibition organiser, photographer and founder of The Sista Code Melissa Histon-Browning said she wanted to include as many people as possible.
"I had an exhibition five years ago but I really wanted to open this one up," she said.
"Sometimes art can be viewed as an elitist, but I think it should be for everyone."
The smaller prints are available to buy for $59, while the bigger pieces are to $95.
■ The exhibition is on at The Emporium, Hunter Street Mall, Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm until December 20.
