What a great year we've had here in Lake Macquarie.
A few people have asked me what my New Year's resolution is, so after giving it some thought, I have decided that 2015 is going to be the year that I get on my bike and make use of the fabulous shared pathways around Lake Macquarie.
The cycling infrastructure across the city not only serves as a means of connecting facilities and suburbs, but also provides opportunities for recreational activity.
I would like to thank everyone who has donated to this year's Christmas Toy Appeal.
Every year the community gives so generously to help less fortunate families celebrate Christmas.
I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of the Samaritans and Salvation Army who work tirelessly to add a bit of joy to the lives of thousands of families across our region, especially at this time of year.
On behalf of the councillors and staff at Lake Macquarie City Council, I wish you and your families all a safe, peaceful and joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I look forward to serving as your mayor in 2015 and beyond.
