The 14-year-old Avoca Beach native racked up 17 points out of a possible 20, continuing the fine form that saw her win the under-16 Dalton Lawyers Cadet Girls competition at South Bar Beach on Saturday.
Callaghan’s back-to-back wins did not come easy, with shifting, wind-blown peaks to contend with and more beach closures on Saturday due to a reported shark sighting off Burwood beach.
But Callaghan can’t put away the board yet as she will be competing in the main event – the Burton Automotive Pro Women’s Classic – at Merewether this week.
In the men’s pro junior Sao Paulo’s Deivid Silva had his first major competition win.
Silva, 20, secured a last-minute victory with a score of 18.35.
The three-day Sanbah Cadet Cup boys competition at South Bar Beach also finished on Sunday, with Kael Walsh and Jackson Roberts taking out the under-16 and under-14 divisions.
