Maddocks has been replaced by Gosford Tennis Association president Rob Eldrige.
Maddocks has done an excellent job supporting the super 10s, regional squad, seedings selections and club issues such as Lake Macquarie clubs with council.
The Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter regional representatives are bitterly disappointed with the selection process.
The lack of consultation with all regional affiliates has created much angst.
The feeling from the northern end of the region is Maddocks, a well-respected and tireless working country director lost his position due to politicking.
This is not the first time nor the last time that Northumberland tennis administration is involved in controversy and there is a ‘‘please explain’’ in with Tennis NSW.
I will keep you posted.
With all this off court action enjoy your on court battles this week and I think we should all remember we play for the fun of the contest, the challenge of improving, the opportunity for exercise and above all the chance to socialise with friends.
