Newcastle Regional Show president Roger Geary said the show had something for everyone, no matter what part of the community they were from.
‘‘Lots of changes have been made and hopefully people will come in their droves,’’ he said.
He said the 2015 show would be one of the best shows yet, with plenty of new initiatives.
This year the show will host the inaugural Food and Wine Expo, welcoming My Kitchen Rules contestants Carly and Tresne and Courtney Roulston from MasterChef.
There will also be more than 100 exhibits, over 120 rides and showbags, and a Lego exhibition.
Traditional show events such as show jumping, tent pegging and motocross will also be back.
An animal nursery, cattle, goats, pigeons will entertain the young ones.
Fireworks are also planned to close the show every night.
Last week Newcastle Regional Show organisers welcomed a $20,000 cheque from the state government.
Newcastle Regional Show Operations manager Dana Pichaloff said the money would go towards funding the community and entertainment stages.
Three entertainment stages have been organised, with more than 600 school children lined up to perform over the three days.
Any money left over from the state government grant would go back into the showground’s upkeep, Ms Pichaloff said.
■ The Newcastle Regional Show will be held from Friday, March 6 until Sunday, March 8. For more information go to newcastleshow.com.au.
