THE Shave For A Cure fundraiser kicked off at Newcastle Private Hospital last week, where four staff and two ring-ins shaved their heads for the World's Greatest Shave.
Hospital staff members Rod Foster, Bruce Rogerson, David Perry and Jordon Taylor, along with Jackson Bartley and Scott Woods, shaved their heads to raise money for the charity.
Mr Perry has been a nurse at the hospital since 1998 and recently returned to work after the birth of fourth child William, now aged eight weeks.
Busy with his family, Mr Perry found it hard to find time to shave, and took the opportunity to grow a beard for the World's Greatest Shave.
Scott Woods signed up as his younger brother Liam was recently diagnosed with leukaemia.
Liam is undergoing treatment at Newcastle Private Hospital.
The group hopes to raise $2000 this month for the Leukaemia Foundation.
The foundation funds research as well as supporting people with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders and their families.
